The MTN-IFSS Skate Soccer League returns to the Accra Sports Stadium this Saturday, October 26 as Accra Giants, Zongo Lions, and Western Tigers fights for the single qualification slot to meet Ashanti Warriors in the grand finale slated for November 30 at a yet to be named venue.

Ashanti Warriors urged Accra Giants 3-2 to win the maiden edition of the MTN-IFSS Skate Soccer League held in the garden city [Kumasi] last May, making them the first team to qualify for the finals.

Skate Soccer, an innovation and precisely the first of its kind is played by physically challenged people, predominantly polio survivors.

In this game, the players sit on a slightly larger skateboard and play association football, controlling the ball with their hands. The rules of the game is similar to that of association football.

According to Mr. Simon Amoh, Senior Manager, General Trade [MTN Ghana], organising the Skate Soccer is one of such exciting ways to help the physically challenged while brightening their lives.

MTN Ghana [the market leader in the competitive mobile telecommunications industry] over the years have been supporting various sectors of sports including local football clubs such as Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, and Kumasi based King Faisal.

The company [MTN Ghana] has been sponsoring the FA Cup, several golf clubs, as well as the prestigious annual SWAG awards night.

The Skate Soccer League is proudly sponsored by MTN Ghana [headline sponsor], Binatone, and the International Federation of Skate Soccer [IFSS].
