The Achimota Golf Club was greeted with a golf showdown last Friday as familiar face on the green course – Christopher Mbii got himself outclassed by Kojo Choi to emerge as the winner in the men’s group A competition.
Choi scored a total of 38 points [handicap 10] while Mbii finished second with 37 points [handicap 1]. The third place went to Kwame Boafo [37 points] off handicap 9.
In the men’s group B category, Philip Bonney scored 40 points to finish first ahead of Peter Quartey-Papafio [2nd with 38 points], and Justin Butah [3rd with 37 points].
Floria Hurtubise was on top of issues in the ladies’ group A championship finishing first with 37 points off handicap 14 having beaten Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah who finished second with 34 points.
Meanwhile, Charity Vogel emerged the winner in thr ladies’ group B competition with 36 points off handicap 27, as Elizabeth Essel-Koomson finished as runner-up with 34 points.
In the seniors event, Jan Vogel finished as the winner in the men’s category with 32 points while Helen Appah topped the ladies’ category with 33 points.
Closest to the pin [men] went to Nash Antwi while Jessica Tei won in the ladies event. The longest drive, however went to Joseph Mensah-Larkai.
All the winners in the various categories received prizes from MTN.
