Glorious Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko have both qualified to the quarter final phase of the 2017 MTN FA Cup competition as each side recorded slim wins on Sunday, June 18.
Hearts of Oak had to depend on Abdul Rahman Abdullah’s own goal to beat Accra Young Wise in a highly competitive match in front of a packed crowd at the Zaytuna Park in Kasoa.
Asante Kotoko had to labour to beat Wassaman United 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. Amos Frimpong’s spot kick was enough to give the Porcupine Warriors victory over their Division One counterpart.
Berekum Chelsea did not give Bechem United a breathing space at the Golden City Park as the former CAF Champions League campaigners [Chelsea] walloped the defending champions [Bechem United] by 4-0.
The most surprising result on Sunday was recorded at the Tema Park where Amidaus Professionals picked a 1-0 win over Ghana Premier League leaders, West Africa Football Academy [WAFA].
