The route to glory at this year’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ was mapped out at a packed Doha Exhibition and Convention Center in the Qatari capital on Friday.

As always, the Final Draw for the beautiful game’s greatest tournament threw up plenty of eye-catching fixtures, along with questions and debate over which teams had fared better.

Coach Halilhodzic who guided Morocco to its six FIFA World Cup [1970, 1986, 1994, 1998, 2018, 2022] believes the Atlas Lions have been handed a tough draw:

Group F: Belgium, Canada, Morocco, and Croatia.

“It’s a very difficult draw with Croatia, Belgium and the best team in North America.

“In Brazil [in 2014] with Algeria, I almost achieved a huge feat against Germany [a hard-fought 2-1 loss after extra time in the Round of 16], so I’ll try to do the same with Morocco. Everything is possible – you have to believe in it.”

The Atlas Lions were monstrous side to watch in the qualifiers having topped Group I which included Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, and Sudan with 18 points [100%].

Morocco did not only accumulate maximum points but scored 20 goals and conceded just one goal in the process.

In the playoffs, Morocco drew 1-1 with DR Congo at Stade des Martyrs on March 25 and humiliated the Leopards 4-1 in the return leg at Stade Mohammed V on Tuesday, March 29.
