Mikaela Joslin Mayer has realized her dream of becoming a world champion even before the morning comes as Ewa Brodnicka misses weight ahead of their WBO female junior lightweight [130-pounds] world title fight inside The Bubble at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mikaela Mayer [13-0, 5KOs] jumped onto the scale and made the required weight at 128.9-pounds, but the undefeated junior lightweight champion from Poland [Ewa Brodnicka] ticked the scale at 130.09 in her first attempt.

As required by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Brodnicka [19-0, 2KOs] returned onto the scale again in an hour time, but she couldn’t make the appropriate weight as she ticked at 130.1 pounds.

The bout which serves as a co-feature to the unified bantamweight title fight between Naoya Inoue and Australia’s Jason Moloney will still go ahead nonetheless though Mikaela Mayer is declared winner.

Ewa Brodnicka will make a financial compensation for Mayer having failed to make the required weight.
