Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has expressed his feelings on social media following the Gunners ramshackle performance against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

The Gunners were completely torn apart by a lightening Liverpool side led by Sadio Mane and Alberto Firmino Barbosa de Oliveira, who wobbled Arsene Wenger’s side by 4-0.

But, Mesut Ozil who has come under several criticisms from football pundits not excluding former players of the club took to his Instagram page to write about his own assessment of the Anfield annihilation.

“Blame us, shout at us, criticize us, but I’m also very disappointed about today’s game,” the German pass master wrote.

Ozil, who completed more passes [171] in the final-third at the 2014 FIFA World Cup further reiterated that he and his teammates wanted to leave Anfield with a positive result but things didn’t go the way they expected.

“We wanted to achieve a positive result before the international break but we were simply not good enough during the 90 minutes and Liverpool deserved the win without a doubt.

“Usually I’m too angry to post on social media after such frustrating days like today, but I don’t want to let this match go uncommented before traveling to the DFB Team (German national team),” he added.

The German however apologized to the traveling Arsenal fans who traveled to Liverpool to support Arsenal.

“Nevertheless… Gunners, I’m sorry – especially for the fans who travelled all the way up to Liverpool to see us fighting. But we will try everything to improve in the next game and bounce back from the disappointment we are all feeling at the moment.”

Mesut Ozil has played 116 games for Arsenal since joining the Gunners from Real Madrid in 2013, scoring 23 goals on the road.

Arsenal will take on Bournemouth on September 09 at the Emirates stadium before their trip to Germany to face Cologne in the Europa League ahead of their London derby with Chelsea the following weekend.
