After two years of stoppage because of the situation in the country, the Libyan Football League returned to life with its 46th edition.

Libyan Football Association [LFA] decided to play the season with two groups format, due to difficulties in transportation in the country.

Each group includes 12 teams, with top two teams reaching the final stage to determine the 2020-21 season champions. The first group will represent the eastern region, while the second group includes the clubs of the western region.

The Libyan Football League, which started the 1963-64 season, was suspended in 2019 due to the security situation in Libya.

The health authorities allowed the league resumption according to precautionary measures and to be played behind closed doors.
