The drama that has suddenly roared its ugly heads in the Wonder club – Great Olympics will either escalate or capsize on Sunday as Liberty Professionals welcome the wonder club to the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman on matchday 12 of the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League.
Yes, they [Great Olympics] are affectionately called ‘The Wonder Club’ and they do things mysteriously. In less than 5 days, lots of things have unfolded at the club to the extent that the playing body has been sharply divided into two fronts.
This is not a Saturday evening joke but a true story. Suddenly, sports Journalists in Ghana do not know whether to call the team Accra Great Olympics or Prampram Great Olympics due to the drama which has unfolded in the past days.
Part of the team is now being handled by player/coach – Godwin Attram whilst the other half is under the tutelage of former Medeama SC gaffer, Tom Strand.
The supporter base of the team has also followed a similar path.
For instance, whereas some [majority though] have sworn thunder and light to back Attram to success, others are of the view that the time has come for the former Black Stars midfielder [Attram] to concentrate on playing for the club whiles giving the chance for a more experienced coach like Tom Strand to handle the technical aspect of the club.
Accra Great Olympics are gradually dragging every stakeholder of the Ghana Premier League to a wonderland because in the final analysis, nobody can tell whether Liberty Professionals are going to play Accra Great Olympics or Prampram Great Olympics except God who lives above the skies.
