After 16 years in absentia, Leeds United has finally been promoted to the prestigious English Premier League with one more match yet to be played.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side has had an incredible performance throughout the 2019/2020 championship season.
With players like Patrick Bamford, Pablo Hernandez, and Jack Harrison who contributed to 66% [18, 16, and 14 goal contributions respectively] of Leeds United’s 73 goals, the team currently records the highest average of shot per game [16.3 shots per game] this season.
Also with players like Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper, and the Goalkeeper Kiko Casilla forming the backline, Leeds United currently records the highest clean sheet [21 out of 45 games] and the team with the least goals conceded in 45 games [35 goals conceded].
Upon winning the championship for the 4th time, Leeds United are also known to have won the Premier League thrice and Europa League twice. This shows they are not only respected in England but Europe.
As they join the top tier of English football since 2004, will they aim for European football spots or just focus on maintaining their presence in the league?
Next season will be a real test for Marcelo Bielsa and his men to prove themselves as worthy to play Premier League football.
