The outstanding quarter final match of the 2017 MTN FA Cup between Asante Kotoko and Division One League campaigners – NEA Salamina will come off this afternoon at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The first official match of Asante Kotoko after their unfortunate accident a little over a month ago saw the Porcupine Warriors play a 1-1 drawn game with Hearts of Oak on Sunday, August 06.
From the lenses of www.sports24ghana.com Asante Kotoko is the clear favourite to qualify to the semi final phase of the competition. Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak, Medeama SC, and Wa All Stars have already book their qualification tickets.
Coach Steve Polack is likely to rest players like; Felix Annan, Saddick Adams, Ahmed Adams, Awal Mohammed, Amos Frimpong, and Emmanuel Gyamfi due to their engagement with the Black Stars B team who are also preparing to face Burkina Faso in the second leg of their 2018 CHAN qualifying match and this could be an advantage for NEA Salamina to cause an upset.
A win for Asante Kotoko today can serve as a morale booster in their upcoming outstanding Premier League game against the West Africa Football Academy [WAFA] at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope but a defeat could affect the club going into the last round of matches of this year’s league season.
According to the FA Cup Committee, kick off time for this match is at 3:30pm.
