Hearts of Oak newfound midfielder – Salifu Ibrahim has advised supporters and the playing body of Asante Kotoko to focus on their games instead of making the Phobians their subject of discussion.

According to the midfield prodigy, they [Hearts players] are focused on winning the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League so they hardly pay attention to what happens in other camps.

“As for us, our aim is to win the league title that has eluded us for years so we careless about what happens elsewhere actually,” Salifu told Wontumi Nationwide Sports.

“Paying too much attention to your opponents can even bring distraction so keep moving without paying heed to what’s happening behind us.”

Salifu, a gifted and proficient midfielder was instrumental in Hearts of Oak’s matchweek 26 victory [1-0] against Eleven Wonders FC at the Nana Ameyaw Park yesterday.

Hearts’ win against Eleven Wonders is the Phobians first win in Techiman in over twenty years.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined Hearts of Oak from Eleven Wonders prior to the start of the second round of the season.

Meanwhile, his first goal for the Phobians came on matchweek 24, scoring the only goal in Hearts of Oak 1-0 win over Bechem United at the Nana Gyeabour Park.

Blessed with vision and skills, Ibrahim Salifu was adjudged Man of the Match on five occasions during his playing time at Eleven Wonders.

He has, however, won the Player of the Match Award twice in the six games he has featured for Hearts of Oak.
