The abrupt call from a section of Kotoko supporters to have the upcoming outstanding matchday 23 clash between the Porcupine Warriors [Asante Kotoko] and Hearts of Oak postponed did not materialize as management of the red army reaffirms their readiness for the game.

A cross section of Kotoko supporters complained on Monday that it is not appropriate for their team to play against Hearts of Oak as their club is just returning from injury.

But according to the Premier League Board [PLB] representative of Asante Kotoko [Thomas Boakye Agyeman] the management is ready to honour the match on the original date – Sunday, August 06 as published by the PLB.

“It hasn’t come up. We heard media discussions and reports that, we were pulling out until next week. That’s not the case. The game is coming on as planned,” Mr. Boakye Agyeman told

“Everything is on course for us to clear the fixture. There’s nothing like we aren’t playing; we actually playing on Sunday as scheduled” he added.

“The preparedness of Kotoko hasn’t been in doubt. The medical team has thoroughly examined every player. They have consequently declared most of them fit to play with few exceptions like midfielders Michael Akuffu and Ollenu Ashitey,” he revealed.

Mr. Thomas Boakye Agyeman however, urged the millions of Kotoko supporters to rally behind the team as they prepare to return to action for the first time since their tragic motor accident three weeks ago on the Nkawkaw-Kumasi highway.
