Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have credited their attacking midfielder – Augustine Okrah as the scorer in their matchday 22 game against Legon Cities FC at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday.
The Porcupine Warriors piped the Royals by a lone goal, but one of the takeaways from the game was whether the goal was indeed scored by Fabio Gama or Okrah.
A section of the supporters and Journalists at the stadium credited the Brazilian midfielder [Gama] who took the 13th minute free kick which resulted in the goal while others argued in favour of the Ghanaian.
But, the club has issued a statement which sort to bring finality to the matter.
“After careful review of the video footage of yesterday’s goal against Legon Cities, we notice Augustine Okrah got a touch of Fabio Gama’s free kick. Okrah is, therefore, credited with the goal,” the cub wrote via its Twitter page.
