Hearts of Oak goal shy striker [Kofi Kordzi] became the hero on Sunday as his late effort helped the Phobians to steal a much needed win from the jaws of resilient Bechem United at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Prince Adu Kwabena gave the visitors the lead in the 28th minute with an expertly taken penalty kick, but Hearts of Oak’s Kofi Kordzi responded same from the spot in the 33rd minute.

Brimming with confidence after the goal, Hearts went searching for the lead but the defence of Bechem United kept their heads cool as they solidified every attempt from the Phobians to end the first half with one goal apiece.

Fataw Mohammed shot Hearts into the lead in the 64th minute of the game, but his goal could only last for eleven minutes as Hafiz Konkoni drew level in the 75th minute having been through by Randolf Augustine.

Hearts came close again in the 77th minute, but Benjamin Afutu Kotey could not find the back of the net to the dismay of the supporters who could hardly sit.

The pressure finally paid off in time added on as Kofi Kordzi’s header found the back of the visitor’s net to end the game at 3-2 in favour of Hearts of Oak.
