Giant distillery, producers of Kasapreko is the latest company to confirm its support for the upcoming Ghana Beach Soccer League, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah [President of the Ghana Beach Soccer Association] has disclosed.
The President [Yaw Ampofo Ankrah] revealed that Ghana will boast of the biggest beach soccer league in Africa with 16 teams spreading across the capital region, Volta, Central and the Western regions.
According to Ampofo Ankrah, the GBSA is in no hurry to rush into a premature league kick off following experiences of previous seasons.
“In the past, we were not fully prepared and saddled with so many challenges that affected the smooth running of the league. We must avoid such a mistake this time around,” he said.
Currently, the beach soccer league is only played at the Laboma Beach Resort in Accra but that is set to change as Cape Coast, Takoradi and Keta have been lined up to host matches; some of which would be telecast LIVE on radio and via a yet to be named television broadcast partner.
Full details of the sponsorship package would be announced at the GBSA Congress next Friday 23rd June at the Accra Sports Stadium.
CAL Bank with 44,000 cedis a year as corporate social responsibility (CSR), remains the sole headline sponsor of the Ghana Beach Soccer League since it’s inception in 2011. Voltic Mineral Water have also given water to players and officials.
