The much anticipated junior welterweight world title showpiece involving Josh James William Taylor and Jack Catterall has been postponed to Saturday, February 26, 2022 at The OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

The bout which was originally billed for December 18, 2021 at The OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland has to be postponed due to a knee injury Taylor suffered in training this week.

Meanwhile, The Tartan Tornado [18-0, 13KO’s] says he feels upset about the new development but there is nothing he could do about it all the same:

“I’m gutted I won’t be able to defend my title on December 18 as originally planned, but I wanted to make sure I was 100 percent healthy to give my incredible fans the show they deserve,” Taylor said.

“This homecoming has been a long time in the making, and it will be worth the wait. I will see everyone on February 26,” he added.

According to El Gato [26-0, 13KO’s] he’ll continue to work hard while believing that he will be crowned the new world champion come February 26.

“Everything happens for a reason! I am gutted not just for me but for everyone who had planned to go,” Catterall said.

“I will remain professional and continue working for the new date. 2022, I will be world champion. Obstacles like this are nothing new for me. I will turn the frustration into positive energy,” he added.
