Experienced Ghanaian Commonwealth Games boxer – Jessie Lartey has qualified to the quarter final stage having won on a majority split decision over Louis Colin Macharno on Sunday, April 08, 2018.

Lartey [25], who reached the round of 16 stage of the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi [India] as well as the quarterfinal stage at the Glasgow 2014 Games, combined experience with skill to outwit his opponent from Mauritius.

The judges scored the bout 3-2 in favour of the Ghanaian who proved to be too strong for his opponent through the rounds, controlling the tempo of the bout.

Jessie Lartey will face South Africa’s Sinethemba Blom who won via a 4-1 split decision over Colin Lewis from Guyana on Tuesday.
