Wilshere has just nine months remaining on his contract at Arsenal and talks over a new deal have stalled in recent weeks.
The Sun on Sunday claim Arsenal offered the 25-year-old midfielder fresh terms in the summer, but he rejected their proposal.
The England international is reportedly still unhappy with how Arsene Wenger forced him out on loan to Bournemouth last season.
Wilshere has featured in just two games so far this season – staring just one of those – and is said to be seriously considering leaving the north London club next summer.
A source close to Wilshere told The Sun on Sunday: “Arsenal didn’t want to loan him out again unless he signed a new contract but he didn’t want to sign one.
“If Jack gets back into the Arsenal team on a regular basis and feels he is seriously part of the club’s plans, there is still a chance he might stay.
“However, as things stand, he is still of the view that he will be leaving at the end of the season.
“But he will be giving it his all for the club and will remain professional.”
Wenger recently likened Wilshere’s last three injury-blighted years of Wilshere to a car crash.
“We are all different in front of something like that,” Wenger said. “Some just come back like nothing happened to them, so are traumatised for their whole life.
“It is like you have a car accident; some don’t want to drive any more and some take the car and go on again. It is very different and depends on the personality of people.
“The disadvantage is of course that he was out of the game for a long time but there are advantages as well.
Because he knows his body well, he has become very professional and learnt how much time it takes to get back to his best so he is more patient.”
