Ismaily club of Egypt and Zamalek have reported more coronavirus infection cases in the second round of tests conducted by the Egyptian Football Association [EFA] as the country is gearing towards the resumption of its Premier League competition.

On Friday, Zamalek announced that a first-team player a staff member had tested positive for the coronavirus. The affected individuals have not been identified.

Ismaily also announced on Saturday that they have found two COVID-19 positive cases in the second round of testing but did not disclose the said persons in respect of player’s privacy.

The Egyptian Premier League is set to resume on 7 August after being halted for almost five months.

Al Ahly are on top of the league table with 49 points while Zamalek lie fourth [31] and Ismaily are ninth with 22 points after 18 rounds of matches.
