The Minister of Youth and Sports – Isaac Kwame Asiamah has said that it will be wrong for anyone to say that his outfit is not committed in settling the arrears of former Black Stars coach James Kwasi Appiah.
Ghana owes the former Black Stars trainer an outstanding salaries and bonuses estimated at $185,000.
This has created some sort of friction between Kwasi Appiah, the Ghana Football Association, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
But, speaking to the press this morning the minister clarified that the ministry is committed to paying the coach for the good work he did for the nation:
“It will be wrong to state that we don’t want to pay him because we have supported him right from the start of his contract.”
“We paid all his two-year salaries and bonuses before the extension of his contract and that is how come we owe.
“I can assure you that we will pay him his due for all the good work he had done for our dear nation.”
The contract between Ghana and coach Kwasi Appiah came to its end last December.
