A first half goal by Fulham attacker – André-Frank Zambo Anguissa was all, but enough for the Indomitable Lions to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria 1-0 in an international friendly game at the Wiener Neustadt Stadium in Austria on Friday.

The Super Eagles missed a number of key men such as Victor Osimhen, Semi Ajayi, Tyronne Ebuehi, Zaidu Sanusi, Ola Aina, and Kenneth Omeruo going into the game and suffered the consequences on matchday as strikers Kelechi Iheanacho, Paul Onuachu, and Moses Simon all missed golden opportunities on the night.

The Super Eagles were made to pay for the missed chances in the 37th minute as Zambo Anguissa fired Cameroon into the lead.

Nigeria’s starting line-up include; Maduka Okoye [Goalkeeper], Troost-Ekong [Captain], Chidozie Awaziem, Shehu Abdullahi, Jamiu Collins, Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo, Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon, Kelechi Iheanacho and Paul Onuachu.

The two African giants will meet again on Tuesday, June 8.
