After over two years absence from the national team, Super Eagles coach – Gernot Rohr has recalled Al Shabab striker, Odion Ighalo in his 24-man squad for Nigeria’s FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde Islands.
The Saudi Arabia based striker [Ighalo] retired from the Nigeria national team after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt where he helped the West African country to win bronze and finishing the tournament as the top scorer with five goals.
Nigeria will travel to Morocco for their penultimate Group C fixture against Liberia on November 13 before hosting Cape Verde in Lagos on November 16.
The three-time African champions are on top of the Group C table with 9 points while Cape Verde trail in second spot with 7 points.
