Pitso ‘Jingles’ Mosimane has waxed poetically after winning his second CAF Super Cup trophy.
The South African manager guided Egyptian giants – Al Ahly to its seventh Super Cup glory yesterday at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha having beaten RS Berkane 2-0.
But speaking in a post match interview, Mosimane told the press that the number of trophies he has won counts less to him when a question about what winning a 16th trophy of his career means to him:
“I didn’t even know how many trophies [I’ve won], I’m not counting, to be honest, for me, it’s about winning the next trophy.
“Actually it’s about winning the next match because my hunger for winning a match is bigger than winning the trophy.
“I believe if you focus on the process of winning games, the outcome will sort itself out but I do feel good to part of contributing to Africa and I feel good to be appreciated, unlike what happened to me in my own country.”
