It was a high octane end to end action. Feisty, Fiery and Tenacious. Adrenaline pumping, nail biting, nerve racking, ear tingling and heart in hand stuff.

The action never ceased for a moment. They played as if their lives depended on this match. “No retreat, no surrender.”

Every single attack had something exhilarating and stimulating about it. Bayern Munich played with more intensity and scored with their first inviting ball into the area. Very dependable defender, Ramos made a harsh of it by trying to clear stylishly when it was utterly easy to clear with the left foot. Kimmich punished him dearly by scoring the first goal just like he did last week.

Suddenly, the game sprang to life. Real Madrid almost scored with their first foray. The equalizer did not have to take that long though. Did it? Karim Benzema restored parity through a header having been afforded acres of space. It was as good as it gets.

An inch-perfect 28-pass move was expertly headed home. Bayern were beaten in their own game. Rude awakening! Probably!

There is something symptomatic about this Real team. The roar when you step on their tails. They always respond in equal measure. And that is what champions are made of. And that is what Real Madrid are made of. The stuff of champions.

They have developed their own proprietary of attacking football. Crisp, one-touch passing in tight spaces. They can posses when necessary and are even more venomous on the break.

Scintillating! Real never gives up, so is Bayern. Real got their second goal through a howler by Bayern goalie, Ulreich just after recess. He misjudged a back pass and Benzema capitalized on it.

Credits must be given to Real Madrid for closing down Bayern and blocking the passing lanes. That was what really compelled Tolisso to go for a pass to his goalkeeper. Jupp Heynckes had barely taking his seat.

We knew there would be goals aplenty. It was question of how many and who scores the vital go that would take them to the final. And this game ultimately did not disappoint. It had everything one expects from a game of this nature.

Full of spark and verve. Full of fireworks. Breathtaking!

If there are any doubts about Real Madrid. Just ponder over this: they beat PSG in Paris, 2-1: they beat Juventus 3-0 in the dreaded Turin and finished off Bayern Munich by 2-1 at their fortress in Munich where they had not lost a game all season.

“They came. They saw. They conquered.” Even the Formidable Hurricane of Arrogance tumbled. Kiev is next.

First to win five Champions League consecutively in its old format. First to win two Champions Leagues on the spin in the current format. First to reach three Champions League grand finale on the bounce since Juventus did it between 1996 and 1998. Unprecedented!

Hyperbole is prevalent in sports. But, Real Madrid has run out of superlatives. They are the standard-bearers.

They are the benchmark. They are the yardstick. Their achievement is stratospheric! And no one does it better!

Liverpool or Roma may be next. Expert a grandstand photo-finish. They would certainly get their comeuppance.
