Congolese giant – Association Sportive Vita Club made history on Wednesday, July 01 following the election of Bestine Kazadi as its President.

The Belgian-born lawyer pulled 38 votes against Diomi Ndongala who pulled 32. By this, Kazadi has succeeded General Amisi “Tango” Fort, who stepped down after a thirteen years.

Her Dad, the late Kazadi Tshishishi was a former board chairman for the Kinshasa based club.

Founded in 1935 by Honore Essabe under the name of Renaissance in rue Usoke [Kinshasa], AS Vita Club is one of the most successful teams in DR Congo, having won many national and international titles, winning Linafoot [14], Coupe du Congo [9], DR Congo Super Cup [1], and African Cup of Champions Clubs/ CAF Champions League [1].
