Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide has revealed that the government of Ghana will not bear the cost of traveling supporters to Gold Coast, Australia ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Speaking to Kwadwo Mensah Moshoosho on the Ultimate Sports Show on Asempa [94.7] FM on Friday, the Deputy Minister said the government will facilitate the traveling documents of supporters who would like to travel to cheer Team Ghana on at the Games.
“Because we do not have the financial muscle at the moment government is not going to fund the National Supporters Union [NSU] financially, but will only provide assistance in terms of the facilitation of their documents.”
The 2018 Commonwealth Games [GC2018] which will take place in Queensland, Australia will start from April 04-15.
