The National Weightlifting Team of Ghana, Black Cranes has announced its readiness to participate in the upcoming International Weightlifting Federation [IWF] World Championship at the Anaheim Convention Center [ACC] in California [United State of America].
Ghana will be represented by Christian Amoah [85kg], Richmond Osarfo [105kg], and Christopher Forrester Osei [94kg]. The three athletes will be guided Dr. Kyle Pierce [Head coach and technical directed].
According to the Ghana Weightlifting Federation, the International Weightlifting Federation World Championship in Anaheim will be used as the preparatory grounds for the Black Cranes ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Queensland, Australia.
About 372 weightlifters – 216 men and 161 women from 72 countries will participate in the championship which would be held from Tuesday, November 28, 2017 to Wednesday, December 6, 2017.
Ghana’s participation in World Championship and training camping is sponsored by the Ghana Weightlifting Federation [GWF], the International Olympic Committee [IOC] scholarship and the Technical Director of GWF, Dr. Kyle Pierce.
