As Australia is preparing to stage the most memorable Commonwealth Games ever, so are the athletes also gearing up to writing their names in gold.
In view of that Team Australia have named a strong 16-man Team to represent the country in the weightlifting competition.
Team Australia [weightlifting] is led by Queensland duo – Damon Kelly and Deborah Acason. The two will be making a combined ninth time Commonwealth Games appearance.
Damon Kelly has represented Australia in three Commonwealth Games – Melbourne 2006 [silver], Delhi 2010, and Glasgow 2014 [bronze] whiles Acason, a fifth timer has won medals in her previous Games including a gold medal in the Melbourne 2006 competition.
Additionally Tia-Clair Toome, who was crowned as the ‘Worlds Fittest Woman’ at the 2017 CrossFit Games will feature for Team Australia.
