The President of the Ghana Olympic Committee [GOC], Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah has described the late Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority [NSA] – Mr. Saka Acquaye as a real war leader for Ghana Sports.
According to the GOC President, the late Saka Acquaye was an encyclopedia of sports whom he often consulted for advise and research.
Speaking at the family house of the late Saka Acquaye at Kaneshie yesterday, Ben Nunoo Mensah noted that Saka Acquaye was one of a kind who was very devoted to his work as a sportsman and sports administrator as well.
“In fact, Saka Acquaye was a real patriot for Ghana Sports, we have lost an important personality in sports who contributed immensely at the GOC and NSA. He changed the lives of many people through sports” he stressed.
The GOC President gave the family Veronica buckets, soap, assorted soft drinks and Verna mineral water from Twellium Industries as contribution towards the final funeral right.
Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah on behalf of Dr. Dan Mckorley of McDan also presented 5,000ghc to the bereaved family.
The family spokesman, Mr. Adolf Ankrah commended the GOC President for his surprise visit and donation.
Mr. Dan Saka Acquaye, 58 who passed away on 24th June, 2020 and will be buried on Saturday, September 12 at the Mantse Ankrah Royal Mausoleum at Kaneshie, in Accra.
