The Ghana National Petroleum Authority [GNPC] has approved an amount of One Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars [US $1,500,000] to support sports development and various sporting activities in Ghana www.sports24ghana.com can reveal.

This came after series of meetings between the Ministry of Youth and Sports [MOYS] and the GNPC with a common view of developing Ghana sports through a public-private partnership [PPP].

In view of this, the Ministry of Youth and Sports is expecting the first installment of Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars [US $750,000] to be released to them for onward disbursement into various channels of operations.

GNPC was established as a State-owned entity to operate on a commercial basis. The corporation was given legal backing through two main statutes. That is, PNDC Laws 64 and 84. The corporation’s vision is to become a leading global oil and gas company, whose operations have a profound impact on the quality of life of the people of Ghana.
