Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca has already put one foot in the Total CAF Champions League group stage, defeating Libyan hosts Al Nassr 3-1 at the first leg of the first round on Sunday evening.

The game was played at Cairo based Petrosport Stadium in Egypt, as the current situation denies Libyan clubs from playing at home.

After a goalless first half, Fabrice Ngoma gave The Green Eagles the lead six minutes after halftime.

Cameroonian import Junior Nigongo equalized for the hosts after 71 minutes, but his joy was cut short when Ayoub Nanah restored Raja’s lead just a couple of minutes later.

Skipper Mohsen Mitwally added Raja’s third five minutes from time to give his side a comforting cushion before hosting the return leg in Casablanca after a couple of weeks.

Three times African Champions Raja last tasted CAF Champions League glory in 1999.
