Many a Ghanaian soccer loving fan did not take Asamoah Gyan’s claim of playing in the Ghana Premier League once more before calling off his professional career serious considering what the Black Stars all-time leading scorer has been able to achieve in Europe and across the globe.

But, the ‘Baby Jet’ as he is affectionately called fulfilled his promise last Saturday when he signed a one-year contract with Legon Cities FC.

Its official.. @ASAMOAH_GYAN3 joins the family..Welcome to @LegonCitiesFC, the club announced via its twitter handle.

Soon after the club broke the news, Asamoah Gyan also took to twitter to confirm the news while sharing his delight to joining the local league:

“Here we go. I’m back home to continue my career with @legoncitiesfc.

“I’m happy to join this club because they have a future plan for Ghana football. Don’t blink when the season starts.

“Follow my new club for every details of the club. Thanks for your support.”

Though undisclosed, rumours making rounds suggest Asamoah Gyan’s transfer to Legon Cities FC is believed to be around US$1million.
