Former WBO junior-featherweight world champion – Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe kept his hopes of a featherweight title shot alive on Saturday, November 20 having produced a great performance against Christopher Díaz Vélez to win the North American Boxing Federation [NABF] featherweight crown at Michelob ULTRA Arena [Mandalay Bay] in Las Vegas.
After 10 entertaining rounds that saw both boxers giving their all in the ring two judges – Tim Cheatham and Dom Trella scored the bout [96-94] and [97-93] in favor of Isaac Dogboe. Eric Cheek, however, scored the bout 95-95.
The majority decision victory [95-95, 96-94 and 97-93] means Dogboe [23-2, 15KO’s] who nearly retired from the sport after back-to-back defeats to Emanuel Navarrete in December, 2018 and May, 2019 has won his last three fights on the bounce since returning to the ring.

Going into the fight, Isaac Dogboe revealed at the last press conference on Thursday about the impact his new trainer – Barry Hunter has brought on board and it was evident on fight night:
After fallen short on points in the rounds 2,3, and 4 the Royal Storm did not try to put on a knockout cap by all means, but boxed his way intelligently into the fight to win majority of the remaining rounds.
