Ghanaian boxers showed class as they reigned supreme over their U.K. counterparts at the Azumah Nelson Fight Night IV held at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra last Saturday, August 19, 2017.
In the main event, Ghana’s Wahab Oluwasuen knocked out John Hick [British] in just round three to win the super featherweight contest.
The Ghanaian exerted his energy on his British opponent [John Hick]right from the sound of the bell with some wild punches, but Hicks stood his grounds despite the hefty punches from Wahab Oluwasuen.
Hicks dominated the Ghanaian in the second round landing some good left jabs except that he failed to follow it up with the fire punch.
Wahab Oluwasuen floored the British in the third round sending him to the canvass with a ferocious straight right shot.
In another contest, Ghana’s Raphael Kwabena won via a split decision against Anthony Ayinde from the United Kingdom in a welterweight contest.
Wassiu Mohammed won the bragging right over Felix Okine in an all Ghanaian affair.
Mohammed won courtesy a unanimous decision [60-34, 60-35 and 60-34] in their scheduled super bantamweight contest billed for six rounds.
In an amateur contest, Azumah Nelson Jr.Azumah Nelson Jr. [son of the legendary Azumah Nelson] defeated Prosper Abbey via a split decision.
