The plea by some premier league teams to halt the matchday 24 games until the return of Asante Kotoko did not materialize as the PLB has released the fixtures for this weekend.

Meanwhile, the match between the West Africa Football Academy [WAFA] and Asante Kotoko at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope has been rescheduled.

This was necessitated by a medical report submitted to the Premier League Board by the Porcupine Warriors to allow their players to recover fully following the fatal car accident the club suffered last week.

According to the medical report submitted to the PLB, only six players out of those examined could return to training and active play. The rest of the players require a period of not less than two weeks to fully recover.

In view of that, the PLB resolved to continue with the rest of the matchday 24 fixtures with the hope that Kotoko will be ready to play by match day 25 on August 2-3, 2017.

However, if the Porcupine Warriors are not ready by August 2, 2017 the GPL will be halted.
