An Accra High Court ruling on Thursday, July 12, 2018 granted the Attorney General’s plea seeking to liquidate the erstwhile Ghana Football Association [GFA].
Madam Gloria Akuffo [The State Attorney] argued that the Ghana Football Association is not fit for purpose as the entity is being used for illegal purposes.
According to the AG [Attorney General], the injunction application is necessary in other to protect the public.
The decision to dissolve the GFA was arrived at after the public premiering of the Anas Aremeyaw Anas expose on football tagged #12 – When greed and corruption becomes the norm.
The Registrar of companies has been appointed by the High Court as the official liquidator of the defunct Ghana Football Association.
