What promised to be a feisty final rather turned out to be a one way traffic in the final analysis on Saturday as host – Accra Giants dominated, dictated, wobbled, and washed away Ashanti Warriors in the grand finale of the 2019 MTN Skate Soccer League.
Led by the most skillful Gariba Sanni, Accra Giants pressed the accelerator on from the blast of the whistle and never looked back until they accomplished their mission of winning the competition having beaten the Warriors 5-1 to the applause of many a skate soccer fan that throng the Accra Sports Stadium to witness the much publicized game.
Sanni’s hat-trick propelled the Giants to go into the break with a 4-0 lead.
Ashanti Warriors, however, came into the game very strong in the second stanza, but their efforts could only resulted in a consolation goal.
Skate Soccer, an innovation and precisely the first of its kind is played by physically challenged people, predominantly polio survivors.
Its create an environment that gives opportunity to the physically challenged to showcase their talent in the game of soccer while brightening their lives.
