The Ghana Athletics Association [GAA] has appointed highly skilled broadcaster and communication expert – Charles Osei Asibey as its board member.

“I am excited to inform you that the Executive Committee [EXCO] of the Ghana Athletics Association [GAA] has appointed you as a co-opted Board Member & Consultants on Events, Communications, and Marketing with immediate effect,” his appointment letter signed by Bawa Fuseini read.

“The GAA believes that your rich experience in fundraising, marketing, mass communication, and extensive media network will be of great value as GAA seeks to strengthen its core mandate,” it added.

Charles Osei Asibey’s exceptional contribution to the development of sports earned him Presidential Award from the Sports Writers Association of Ghana at the 44th MTN/SWAG Awards Night held in May 2019.

His selfless dedication in the industry spans almost three decade having worked with Radio Gold, Groove FM now Adom FM, Peace FM, Happy FM and Asempa FM.

With his passion in sports, Charles has traveled the world covering major sporting activities including World Title fights and the FIFA World Cup. He has held several key positions in the broadcast industry and currently the General Secretary of the sportswriters Association of Ghana [SWAG].

Mr. Osei Asibey, since 1999 has been nominated for and won several sports awards in Ghana and abroad. With a constant appearance on Television in Ghana, Charles has specialized in Sports & Event Management, Product Activations, Marketing & Sponsorship.

He recently won the Federation President’s of the Year award by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana and is also a Board member of the Africa Armwrestling Federation.
