Former Black Stars and Asante Kotoko defensive powerhouse, Frimpong Manso has been tasked to perform an advisory role at the club.

There were lots of speculations in the various media outlets early Tuesday morning that the former defender has been appointed by the Porcupine Warriors [Asante Kotoko] to assist interim coach [Godwin Ablorde] after the club parted ways with Zdravko Lugarusic on Sunday but the club has come out to set the record straight.

According to the communication machinery of Asante Kotoko, Frimpong Manso will not sit in the dugout during matches as his role is purely advisory.

“Frimpong Manso coming in to help doesn’t mean he will work under Ablordey. That’s not what it implies. Let’s make it clear that, his role will be advisory,” Operations Manager of the club, Ernest Owusu Ansah explained.

“Management believes that, Ablordey needs support and help. Frimpong Manso’s presence will add weight to the technical ideas at training and especially ahead of our matches. He will not sit on our bench” the Operations Manager reiterated.
