Free scoring WAFA climbs to the top of GPL table

Yes, their Technical Director is bound to be buried, but the West African Football Academy [WAFA] have been bleeding nothing but goals in recent weeks.

The ‘Soccer Physicians’ ran riot on AshantiGold SC palming them 3-0 at their ever charming Red Bull Arena in Sogakope on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 to go top of the Ghana Premier League table for the first time since they rejoined the league in the 2016.

WAFA broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when Prince Obeng Ampem sprinted past his marker in the eighteen to head home Abdul Wahab Ibrahim’s cross.

Daniel Lomotey [79th minute] and Christian Waja [89th minute] increased the tally for WAFA from the recess dumping the soccer miners deep into the relegation trunk.

WAFA are now leading the GPL table with 20 points, followed by Aduana Stars [18 points] and Asante Kotoko [18 points].
