Jamaican sprinter, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce returned to winning ways on Friday having clocked 10.84 seconds to win the women’s 100m race at the Diamond League meeting in Doha.
After finishing fourth in the wet and windy conditions in Gateshead last Sunday, the 34-year-old reigning world champion [Fraser-Pryce] cruised to victory ahead of Blessing Okagbare [10.90 seconds], and Javianne Oliver 11.03 seconds.
The Diamond League race in Doha witnessed some key names like Sha’ Carri Richardson, Dina Asher-Smith, and Elaine Thompson-Herah all withdrawing from the event.
Nonetheless, the women’s 100m was very competitive as Fraser-Pryce and Blessing Okagbare recorded their season best.
Meanwhile, Marie-Josee Ta-Lou who finished third in Gateshead came fourth on Friday.
