Former Malawian midfielder and coach – Kannock ‘Bruno’ Munde has died from COVID-19.

The attacking midfielder, aged 63, passed on at the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, on Friday, July 10 after a short illness.

He was a member of the Flames squad that qualified for their maiden Africa Cup of Nations in 1984 in Cote d’Ivoire.

Munde is famous for his stints with local side, Wanderers, helping them to win titles in the 1970s and 1980s. He later served as a coach of Wanderers.

Munde served different roles at Nomards, including coach and team manager.

He also coached Mozambican side – Ferroviaro de Nampula in the mid 2000’s, helping the club win lots of trophies.
