Uganda’s win over Egypt yesterday sends only one signal to Ghana and that is, the Black Stars should take their destiny into their own hands as they come up against the Diables Rouges of Congo at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi this afternoon.

Despite Ghana’s poor start into the campaign, coach Kwesi Appiah is still confident that the Black Stars can pick the only qualification ticket in Group E to the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 at the expense of Uganda and Egypt.

Double wins over Congo is all but the spark that Ghana need in other to reignite its chase for a record fourth time appearance at the Mundial – Germany [2006], South Africa [2010], Brazil [2014], and then Russia [2018].

A win for the Black Stars today will open Group E as Ghana will still be hanging on the third position but with 4 points. However, a win for the Black Stars in the second leg over Congo on Tuesday will further turn the group into a jungle paradise where only the strongest will survive at the end of the campaign.

Ghana’s predicted line up against Congo: Richard Ofori, Harrison Afful, Jeffrey Schlupp, Daniel Amartey, Jonathan Mensah, Thomas Partey, Andre Ayew, Ebenezer Ofori, Asamoah Gyan [Captain], Jordan Ayew, Christian Atsu.
