Brazil ran riot over neighbours [Honduras] to cruise into the quarterfinals of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup tournament in India.

Junior Seleção [Brazil], the most successful team in the history of the FIFA U-17 World Cup recorded their 176th goals since the inception of the tournament thanks to goals from Brenner [brace] and Marcos Antonio.

The Sao Paulo forward [Brenner] signed his signature onto the score sheet in the 11th minute as he sweeps Alan’s low cross into the six-yard box pass Honduras goalie – Alex Rivera.

The second goal came as a result of a more crafty team play as Paulinho broke the central Americans defensive network with a simple but intelligent pass onto the path of Marcos Antonio to score from a close range.

Brenner scored his third goal of the competition in the 56th minute as he pounced on a loose ball to punish Honduras for the second time.

Despite Brazil’s dominance, Honduras were not pushovers having hit the woodwork in each half with two brilliant strikes from Luis Palma [33rd minute], and Carlos Mejia [second half].

Brazil’s next hurdle is against the free scoring Germans on Sunday in Kolkata.
