Asante Kotoko chest controlling striker – Kwame Poku came to the party at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday as his first half double ensured a much awaited victory [2-0] for the Porcupine Warriors.

Like a spark of fire in the harmattan season, Kwame Poku scored his brace as early as under eighteen minutes of play.

The former Nkoranza Warriors striker broke the deadlock in the 10th minute having controlled Fabio Gama’s pass into the eighteen yard box with his chest before unleashing a left footed shot which took a deflection on its way into the net.

Brazilian midfielder – Fabio Gama connected beautifully with Kwame Poku for the second time in the 18th minute when his left footed pass from 19 meters found the eye red striker outside the goal area.

Kwame Poku controlled the ball with his chest and made a halve turn to beat the two Liberty Professionals defenders – Samuel Amofa [captain] and Paul Kwame at once before placing the ball beyond the reach of goalkeeper Kofi Baah.

The scientific soccer lads [Liberty] returned from the break looking more purposeful but could still not find a consolation despite pushing more players behind the ball.

With the win, Asante Kotoko have climbed to the 6th position with 12 points. The Porcupine Warriors still have one more outstanding game to clear against Ebusua Dwarfs.
