The Egyptian Football Association [EFA] has announced that the resumption date of the 2019/2020 Egyptian Premier League has been rescheduled from August 7 to August 6 as communicated earlier.
According to the EFA the changes were effected because of the upcoming Egypt senate elections set for August 7, 2020 which would have security agencies stretched.
The Egyptian Football Association is looking to complete the season by the end of August with the fixtures to be released in the coming days by the Competition Committee. The competition was halted on March 14 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Below is the Egyptian Premier League stands [first five]
Al Ahly – 49
Al Mokawloon – 33
Pyramids – 32
Zamalek – 31
Al Ittihad – 27
The second phase, which will start depending on the CAF’s schedule, will probably take place by the start of September.
