Chelsea goalkeeper – Edouard Mendy has been voted as the Best Player of the Year [2021] by the Senegalese sports journalists, winning the individual award ahead of Sadio Mané and Ismaila Sarr.
To win the Jules Bocandé Trophy, Mendy pulled an amazing 321 points while Mané and Sarr pulled 99 and 61 points respectively.
The 2020/21 UEFA Champions League best goalkeeper [Mendy] is the first player to beat Sadio Mané, winner of the distinction during the previous six seasons.
Meanwhile, Generation Foot striker Jean-Louis Barthélémy Diouf won the trophy for best local player while Mouttarou Baldé [Teungueth FC], and Pape Demba Diop [Diambars] finished second and third place respectively.
