Deontay Wilder has set his sights on dominating at cruiserweight, but only once he has unified the heavyweight division.
The ‘Bronze Bomber’ is widely expected to agree a showdown with Anthony Joshua before the end of the year with all major heavyweight straps on the line.
Wilder – the WBC champion – previously offered his British rival $50million to face him, but a bout is still yet to be confirmed.
Joshua is not Wilder’s only focus, though, after he posted on Instagram outlining his plans to drop down a division in the future.
“What’s up boxing world?” he said in the video. “You know I’ve just been sitting in my car thinking.
“I’ve been thinking about, once I unify the heavyweight division, moving down to cruiserweight and taking over that division.
“There’s never been a heavyweight ever go down in weight.
“I mean just for the fun of it, just take over the cruiserweight division while maintaining the heavyweight division. Yeah, what do you guys think?”
