Nigerian goalie – Daniel Akpeyi has been ruled out for the rest of the 2019/20 Absa Premiership campaign having suffered a head injury in their Kaizer Chiefs’ 0-1 defeat to Bidvest Wits at the FNB Stadium on Sunday.

“Daniel Akpeyi suffered a concussion on Sunday against Wits. He is ruled out for the next two matches.

“The medical team will continue monitoring his recovery process. We wish him a speedy recovery,” the Amakhosi announced via its official Twitter account.

The 34-year-old Nigerian goalkeeper collided with Mxolisi Macuphu as he came out to punch a goal threatening ball out. His position was taken over by Bruce Bvuma.

The league leaders [Kaizer Chiefs] Amakhosi will take on Chippa United and Baroka FC in their final two encounters.
