President and the bankroller of Cheetah Football Club, Abdul Hayye Yartey has donated GHC2000 and some assorted items to the Ghana Blind Sports Association.
The full package included GHC2000 , 20 pieces of Lacoste, 2 sets of training vests, 16 pairs of jerseys, 2 pairs of goalkeeper’s jersey, 18 pairs of hose, 16 pairs of shin guard and assorted drinks.
Presenting the items to the Ghana Blind Sports Association on Monday, October 21 at the Accra Sports Stadium, Mr. Yartey, noted for his benevolence said he believes in giving back to society at any given time, so he couldn’t resist when a friend placed a call to him to come to the aid of the association.
President of the Ghana Olympic Committee [Ben Nunoo Mensah] thanked Mr. Yartey for his kind gesture and urged other philanthropists to also support disability sports.
The Ghana blind football team have started preparation towards their Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games qualifiers slated for Enugu, Nigeria from November 22 to December 1.
The team will play their Ivorian counterpart in an international friendly match on November 1.
The Ghana Blind Sports Association is the wing of the Ghana Blind Union and the body mandated to develop blind sports in the country in collaboration with the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana.
